Author guidelines

Indian Journal of Engineering, Management and Sciences (IJEMS) has adopted the following author guidelines.

Submission of an article to IJEMS implies that it has not been published previously and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere and that if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere.

Authors are advised to submit their manuscripts via manuscript submission portal along with a covering letter giving (i) name(s) and complete address(es) (including telephone number and e-mail) of the corresponding author(s) and (ii) names, affiliations and complete addresses (including telephone number and e-mail) of all c0-authors.

Authors are also requested to provide a self-declaration that the manuscript is free of plagiarism, original and not published elsewhere. They are advised to check the manuscript using any standard plagiarism detection software prior to submitting their manuscripts and hence attach the certificate along with the percentage of non-AI content in the article.

Manuscript Preparation:

Manuscripts should be double-spaced, and the pages and lines should be numbered consecutively, starting with the title page and through the text, reference list, tables and figures. The matter should be arranged in the order, title; abstract; keywords; text; acknowledgements; references; and author contributions. The authors should also declare any conflict of interest. If there are no interests to declare then they must state in the manuscript that the "Authors have no conflict of interest".

Title: The title page should contain the title, followed by name(s) of author(s) (with full first name and initial of middle name, if any), author affiliations/addresses, and email address(es) of the corresponding author(s). The title should be brief. Title page should be a separate word document.

Abstract: Abstract should briefly give the significant results reported in the paper within 250 words. It should not contain references. Abbreviations should be avoided in the abstract. The abstract should be prepared in structured manner, like it should contain background, materials and methods, results and conclusion, the structured abstract applies only to original article. For review articles, small review, short communication and editorial, you can follow non-structured abstract, the word count should not exceed 250 words.

Key Words: A maximum of five key words should be provided for indexing and information retrieval, highlighting the entire article.

Manuscript body: The text should be divided into sections in the following order: Introduction; literature study, Proposed Methodology / existing techniques used ; Results; Discussion; Conclusions. In some cases, it is advisable to merge the Results and Discussion sections. Numerical results should be shown in the tables and not be repeated in the text. Units of measure should be metric or SI.

Abbreviations: Internationally accepted rules, all abbreviations used must be fully explained at first mention.

Tables: Tables must be numbered in Arabic numerals and cited in the text accordingly. The width of the tables should be within 18 cm. They should bear a short descriptive heading and should have proper rows and columns types in single line space.

Figures: Figures should be numbered in Arabic numerals and cited in the text with that number. They should have self-explanatory captions. The size of letters, numbers, dots, lines, etc. in the figure should be large enough to permit size reduction without loss of detail. If an illustration is taken from another publication, reference to the source should be given and prior permission secured.

Cover Photograph: A good colour photograph that pertain to a submitted article will be considered for use on the front cover. Photoshop editable picture with a figure legend may be required for printing, if accepted.

References: References at the end of the paper should be listed alphabetically by author(s) name(s), followed by initials, title, journal name (using standard abbreviation), year, volume and first and last page numbers of the paper. References should be cited in the text by giving the numerical number (in square brackets). References to symposium abstract or paper should include the abbreviated name of the conference, date(s), venue with country, abstract number and pages referred to. All the references should be sorted in incremental numerical order.

Page Proof: Unless specified otherwise, the proofs will be sent to the corresponding author. These should be corrected and returned by the date indicated in the enclosed letter.

Author’s Responsibility:

The primary affiliation for each author should be the institution where the majority of their work was done. If an author has subsequently moved, the current address may also be stated. IJEMS holds no responsibility with regard to jurisdictional claims in published institutional affiliations.
Authorship provides credit for a researcher’s contributions to a study and carries accountability. Each author is expected to have made substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.
All authors have to agree both to be personally accountable for the author's own contributions and to ensure that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work, even ones in which the author was not personally involved, are appropriately investigated, resolved, and the resolution documented in the literature.
The corresponding (submitting) author is solely responsible for communicating with IJEMS and for managing communication between co-authors. Before submission, the corresponding author ensures that all authors are included in the author list, its order has been agreed by all authors, and that all authors are aware that the paper has been communicated for publication .
After acceptance, the proof is sent to the corresponding author. He/She is responsible for the accuracy of all content in the proof, in particular that names of co-authors are present and correctly spelt, and that addresses and affiliations are current.
IJEMS regards the corresponding author as the point of contact for queries about the published paper. It is this author's responsibility to inform all co-authors of matters arising and to ensure such matters are dealt with promptly. This author does not have to be the senior author of the paper or the author who actually supplies materials; this author's role is to ensure enquiries are answered promptly on behalf of all the co-authors.
IJEMS treats the submitted manuscript and all communication with authors and referees as confidential. Authors must also treat communication with IJEMS as confidential. Correspondence, referee/ reviewers reports and other confidential material must not be posted on any website or otherwise publicized without prior permission from the IJEMS.
Authors may suggest potential reviewers but please keep in mind that we are not obliged to follow these recommendations. The decision of the Editorial Board Members on the choice of referees stands final.
Material submitted to IJEMS should not be discussed with the media, except in the case permitted by the editorial board in writing with aprior communication. .

TO Brief, Authors should ensure the following :

Their work is original
Must not have been published elsewhere
Other authors, contributors or sources should be appropriately credited
They are responsible for language editing before submission
Their work has not been copied or plagiarized in whole or part from any other work
The financial support and conflict of interest for the project / research work if any should be disclosed

They are obliged to notify the editor if any error or inaccuracy is discovered and co-operate with the editor to correct the same
